  • September, 2004 Research seminar

*Scientific Realism. How Science Tracks Truth* (Faber, 1999) van Stathis Psillos

  • October 20, 1998 We have finished transitioning our web pages to HTML 4.0. The visual markup on all of our pages, like font sizes, colors, text alignment, is now implemented through the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). We also use JavaScript for smart adaptation of our pages depending on how they are being viewed (e.g., framed or non-framed). Because not all web browsers fully support HTML 4.0, JavaScript and/or CSS, our pages may not display optimally on your computer. If you are using an older browser please upgrade to the most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator/Navigator. We have found that even Netscape 4.5 does not support some of the HTML 4.0/CSS constructs that we use, but we hope that Netscape will fix this in their next release. In the mean time we are sorry to say that our pages are "Best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or 5".
  • Our domain name has changed from www.fys.ruu.nl to www.phys.uu.nl. Although we can still be reached under the old domain name, you are advised to update any links, bookmarks or e-mail addresses you may have.
  • Due to a restructuring of the organization of the faculty we are now an official research institute, and this is reflected in our name.
