Resume Prof. dr. Rob M.J. Liskamp
Prof. dr. Rob Liskamp studied organic chemistry in Nijmegen.
In 1982 he did his PhD on a study of cytostaticum sparsomycine and analoga.
After his doctorate, he left for three years to New York (United States)
at The Institute of Cancer Research.
There he knowledged himself in the effect of tumour promoters and in molecular
modelling. Back in The Netherlands he did a research in Leiden in modified
peptides and peptidomimetics.
In 1991 he stayed in Los Angeles in context of a sabbatical leave (United
States) where he worked on the synthesis of dendrimers. From 1994 he is
head of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical
Sciences. The Department of Medicinal Chemistry is a research programme
of The Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 1996 he became
professor of molecular medicinal chemistry. Liskamp is member of the executive
board of the Netherlands Proteomics Centre. He is chairman of the Study
group "Design and Synthesis" and he is a member of the policy
committee "Synthetic Chemistry" of the NOW division Chemical
Sciences (CW-NWO). He is editor of The European Journal of Organic Chemistry,
ChemBioChem, and of QSAR & Combinatorial Science.
