Abstract:


In this presentation we will give an overview of the
model predictive control approach we have developed
for coordinated network-wide control of traffic flows
on highways using traffic control measures such as
ramp metering and variable speed limits.


In addition, we will also present a case-based distributed
decision support system that assists the operators of traffic
control centers in assessing on-line the performance of a
large number of different control measure scenarios.
