Scope

The biennial ECSQARU conferences constitute a major forum for advances in the theory and practice of reasoning under uncertainty. Contributions come from researchers interested in advancing the technology and from practitioners using uncertainty techniques in real-world applications. The scope of the ECSQARU conferences encompasses fundamental issues, representation, inference, learning, and decision making in qualitative and numeric uncertainty paradigms.

The 12th European Conference on Symbolic and Quantitative Approaches to Reasoning with Uncertainty will be held in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on July 8 through 10, 2013. The organisers are proud to announce the conference's keynote speakers:

Preceding the main conference, on July 7th, a tutorial programme will be offered.

ECSQARU shares various themes with the ISIPTA conference, held in Compiegne, France, the week before ECSQARU. To honour this special occasion, a reduced fee for attendance of both events is offered, including bus transfer to Utrecht. ECSQARU 2013 will moreover host a workshop on building bridges between topics of the two conferences on July 7th.

Instruction to authors

In accordance with the previous conferences, the proceedings of ECSQARU 2013 will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. Authors are requested to prepare their conference papers in the LNCS/LNAI format; papers must not exceed 12 pages and must be submitted as PDF electronically. See instructions for further details. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference to present their work.
