Admission
The course is meant for early stage Ph.D. students that work on a glaciology-related climate project. Some places are available for junior scientists. The course can accomodate 36 students. Prior detailed knowledge/background in glaciology is not a prerequisite but preference will be given to students with stronger math/numerical background.
Costs
Students will be required to pay a contribution of €1000 (2026) towards board and lodging. Travel to and from Karthaus is not covered. We offer one fellowship to cover the required contribution for students who would have difficulties paying this contribution and one fellowships for travel support up to a max of €600. This requires a justification, and is only available to students NOT from “high-income” countries (see the IGS website for information on this definition).
