Pim Hooghiemstra
Research Interests
Inverse modeling of Carbon monoxide: the chemistry trasnport model TM5 is used together with atmospheric observations from the global surface
network hosted by NOAA and satellites (MOPITT).
Internships and research projects
- 2006: Internship at KNMI where I worked on the advection scheme of a tracer model (TM5). Towards advection on a full reduced grid
- 2007: Internship at the national aerospace laboratory NLR in Amsterdam where I worked on an efficient and effective iterative method to solve the discretized Maxwell equations.
The nested generalized conjugate gradient method with shifted Laplace preconditioning for the solution of the finite element discretization of the vector wave equation.
