A regular day in Karthaus

A day in Karthaus started with breakfast in the hotel. One by one, some sleepy, some fully awake, students and staff would come to the hotel to enjoy the freshly baked bread and a good cup of coffee.
After this it was only a 2-minute walk to the village community building, where the lectures took place. Each morning consisted of 4 lectures, with a coffee break after 2 lectures. During the breaks, delicious pastries were served, which were (unfortunately) also very popular with the wasps.

After the morning sessions, we would go back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon we would alternately work on our projects and exercises from the morning lectures. This afternoon session would last until 17.30, after which we were free. Popular ways to spend the time were: hiking, running, playing soccer or frisbee, reading, sleeping, etc.

At 19.30 we were expected at the dinner table of the hotel for our 5-course meal, which would last typically until 21.15, after which there was time to have a drink at the bar.
